I ordered these replacement blades for my 4 year old Norelco and they came in a ridiculously short amount of time. The blades are great, I think, but with the new blades I’ve been getting a lot of razor rash especially in the area under my chin. Apparently it takes a while for your skin to get used to the new blades, but the rash was really bothering me, so I went to the internet looking for a solution.

I found online that the rash was really avoidable if I exfoliated my skin a couple of times a week to get rid of dead skin and bacteria, and exfoliating also gives you a much better shave. I figured it was worth a try, so I ordered thisTreeActiv Anti Acne & Rosacea Treatment Sulfur Mask Plus Rhassoul, Bentonite Clay Mask with Witch Hazel & Aloe Vera – Refreshing Lemon Scent (1 Jar) (4 Oz) online, and whoa–it worked really well. It felt a little funny at first to use such a thick cream on my face, but it really helped make my shave so much smoother and I also was able to get rid of some of the painful razor bumps that I get every so often on my face.

I definitely recommend changing your blades more often than 4 years in between, and just in general it helps to exfoliate your face a few times a week for super smooth shaves that you will have to do less of. Also, I use TreeActiv+ Tea Tree Oil Acne Solution for Advanced Acne Treatment – All Natural Acne Spot Treatment – Blemishes Gone or Your Money Back! (60ml)to clean my razor, apparently it works better than anything else in preventing dullness of the razor, and its good for keeping your razor in good shape.

Replacement blades are a must. The razor will remind you about once a year which is fine in most cases. But, if you have a heavy beard or shave more than once a day, as I do, then you should replace the blades every 8 months or so. The reminder on the razor is only a suggestion, not a command. After all, it does not know when the blades get dull. So, I simply ignore the reminder and replace the blades when I feel it is necessary.

One thing you must do is use the new blades for several days until they settle in and adjust to your skin. Until then you may have a little irritation. Another problem I have solved is the hair on my neck. I use to think the harder I press the razor, the better it would get those stray hairs. But, all I got was a rash. I discovered that if I simply use a very light touch and not press hard then it got those hairs much better and with no redness.

Replace your blades at least once a year and your face with thank you.
